Christen Blair Horne


Soprano Christen Blair Horne has enjoyed recent success in the roles of Blanche (Dialogues des Carmélites), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), and Valencienne (Die Lustige Witwe). She has become a singer to watch, twice winning the Encouragement Award for the Metropolitan Opera National Council’s Western Region Auditions.

This past year Ms. Horne was chosen to perform with San Diego Opera Chorus for the 2013-14 season and as a participant in the Opera Academy of California program. She is an alumna of the OperaWorks 2010 Advanced Artist and 2014 Winter Intensive programs, where she created characters developed into original, three-act productions.

Ms. Horne recently graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University, where she was seen in the Point Loma Opera Theatre (PLOT) program as the title character in Cendrillon, Arminda (La Finta Giardiniera), Dido (Dido & Aeneas), and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte). This year she continued her performances with the San Diego Opera Chorus and performed Despina in a PLOT-sponsored concert production of Cosí fan tutte. Upcoming roles include Zemphira (Aleko) with the East County Youth Symphony, Giulietta (Les contes d'Hoffmann) and La Fée (Cendrillon) with the Point Loma Opera Theatre.
