Kylena Parks, a native of San Diego, CA, is an undergraduate
at Chapman University achieving a Bachelor of Music degree in
Vocal Performance for the year of 2014. Since the age of 15,
Kylena has been a chorister with the Lyric Opera of San Diego,
performing in their productions of La Rondine, Pirates
of Penzance, and Hansel and Gretel. She has performed
in Southern California and Utah, and in 2011 she was seen in
the chorus of the San Diego Opera for their production of Turandot
under the direction of Eduardo Müller.
More recently, with Opera Chapman, she has sung the Queen of
the Night in Die Zauberflöte, and Griselda in La Griselda.
In addition to these recent performances, Ms. Parks has performed
scenes as Adina from L’elisir D’amore, Gretel from
Hansel & Gretel, Adele from Die Fledermaus,
and Baby Doe from The Ballad of Baby Doe at the Institute
for Young Dramatic Voices under the direction of Dolora Zajick,
where she will study Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro
in the summer of 2012.
